Debra Moreland’s 7 Questions - How To Accessorize for Your Wedding

Congratulations!

You have found your soul mate, set the date & purchased your wedding gown.

Here is the tried-and-true method I use to help brides select accessories…

The most important thing to keep in mind is to balance your look and bring out your unique personality. This often works best if you pick your accessories out with these key factors in mind:

THE SEVEN QUESTIONS

Season – Spring, Summer, Christmas? Does this tie into your theme?

Venue – How formal or informal is your event going to be?

Gown – Style, Texture & Design?

Do you have existing accessories that need to be complimented?

How will you wear your hair? Your accessories need to compliment this.

What accessory is most important to you?

Size of the wedding? – 10 vs. 250 people

All of these unique considerations create your personalized event.

For example, it feels very different to be married in front of 200 people compared to ten.

This can dictate how elaborate you may want your accessories to feel.

How To Begin…

Decide which accessory is most important to you (i.e. “I just have to wear my grandma’s necklace!”),

Then find the support pieces, but make sure they compliment. This is where brides often get confused;

Metal/stone color and general era all need to be similar. You want to find earrings and a hair piece

That all still relate to your grandmother’s necklace. Then top if off with the perfect veil.
